Barney, a spunky little Schnauzer, has found a new home in Laughlin, Nevada! Barney relocated to Laughlin this past week, leaving the cold weather of Red River, New Mexico behind for the winter. It's time for me to get serious again. I just returned from a business trip to Montana. What a beautiful state. I was all over the Flathead River and saw wildlife I've never seen before. The "cattalo" were quite interesting...a cross breeding of a cow and a buffalo. They look like yaks with long horns. An interesting thing happened to me this past week and I'm still smiling at how the unexpected can turn out so incredibly wonderful.
I was driving up the hill to take photos of a new foreclosure in Laughlin, NV. So I was sailing along in the PT, pulled up in front of the home and noticed a car driving very slowly in front of me. Years of experience told me these folks had already discovered this foreclosure. As real estate salespeople know, when you list or discover a foreclosure, you usually play your cards pretty close to your chest so you can market the home to your existing clients. I got out of the car and struck up a conversation with these folks. As it turns out, they are local residents who were contacted by their friends in Illinois to drive-by this foreclosure and give the details to their friends. So I invited them to join me inside the home while I took the photos. This foreclosure was unbelievably gorgeous, in great condition and sitting on over a quarter of an acre. While we were inside this foreclosure, the locals called their friends and told them they needed to buy this home and buy it now! So, they DID. I cannot disclose what they are paying for this great foreclosure but I can tell you that based on recent appraisals on the very same block, they got a whopper of a home at a pittance of a price. Everyone was in the right place, at the right time and our new Laughlin residents will walk into their new home, paying over $35,000.00 under appraised market value. I don't know of anything else you can buy to realize that sort of return on your investment.
